All the limited classes are allowed to strengthen and reinforce as they wish. Factory rubber bumpstops can be replaced with hydraulic racing versions. When Greg Foutz build the Gen1 Baja 1000 entry he had years of experience with production-based f150's, I'm sure he knew what and where to plate. ALL fabricators replace the stock coil bucket with a fabricated shock mount that ties into the engine cage and allows for a longer shock body & dual rate coil springs. (One well known builder, who's name rhymes with "Curt Leduc", once had a racing shock going through the stock bucket and mounted it just below the hood to comply with the rules). These same rules mandate they retain the silly factory dash, however.Id be curious how the frames and everything else on these basically stock raptors are holding up after one of these races. Tons of weld fractures, suspension toast, tires shot, burning a little oil, or are these trucks able to be daily driven for another 30K miles without a whole lot of messing around?
