What a deal ! Who’s the next idiot to grab the deal of a lifetime.
I know, right. Can you imagine being one of the idiots who paid $15k over for a C7 ZR1 Corvette?

And there can't possibly be a potential comparison made either. There were approximately 3000 ZR1s made for the C7 generation - possibly the last front engine and manual Corvette - essentially the swan song for not only the C7 but also the Corvette as we once knew it. Luckily we already know the Raptor R won't be the last V8 Raptor or the last non-hybrid/electric truck of its kind. Oh that's right - we don't know that.

Here we are 2-3 years later, and the idiots that paid roughly $140k (MSRP was about $120-125k) for their ZR1s could probably only get $170-180k for them. OUCH!!!

Yes, we are in the midst of a developing recession due to the policies of a failing (also see: failed) administration. The people paying $20k over MSRP for a toy vehicle they want is not the reason...

All it takes is one rotten one to ruin the batch. Surprised anyone over the age of 15 is still coming on the internet to call folks idiots, but I've learned that some have to put on to others what they truly feel for themselves. Anywho, I hope everyone enjoys their R's whether at MSRP or above. Life is too short to drive a Prius or to be that ******* on the forum no one likes.

Cheers!

Only idiots and meatheads pay over msrp for any new vehicle today and I absolutely do not, so I guess I’m not in that class.

Your overarching point may well be true and I don’t necessarily disagree on the premise. That said, you need to stop with person to person insults. Not only does it pretty well undercut your message, it’s really uncalled for.

A $30-40k profit before capital gains ain’t nothing to complain about buddy. So hopefully your next statement is actually coherent.

Riiight... Look, my post was dripping with as much sarcasm as I could possibly include. I responded to someone who called people idiots for paying ADM by pointing out the incredible potential for a significant profit on a relatively low production and highly desirable performance vehicle.

I'd say my statement was more than coherent. Your understanding of it was perhaps less so.

Lol I thought you were being dead serious after how the other posts on this thread went. So my apologies. If you can get your hands on an R (especially at MSRP), people are going to be able to make big money.

No worries - and I didn't mean to sound harsh, so my apologies as well. I was actually attempting to make the DIRECT correlation between the ZR1 and Raptor R. Supercharged V8s with nearly identical production numbers and MSRPs - both of which may be the swan song of their respective model. Who knows if we'll ever see another front engine Corvette with a manual transmission...? And then who knows if we'll ever see another V8 Raptor after this or even a Raptor that is motivated only by an ICE.

To your point, I think those who are able to secure an R at $15k over MSRP stand to make big money, especially if they choose to flip it quickly.
