Greetings from CommieFornia, I’m a new Raptor owner and I need some advice with my “new” 2010 that I purchased in Nevada. It is in mint condition with only 15k miles on it. My problem is getting a smog certificate. It PASSED the smog test perfectly but since the supercharger is missing the required CARB sticker, the A-hole who did the smog test marked it as “tampered with.” My knee-jerk reaction is to take it to a Ford dealership and tell them to restore it to stock condition. Anyone have a better idea? I called ProCharger and the only solution they offered was to replace the supercharger with a $7k California compliant system.
I know it happens, I bought a CARB compliant supercharger for my Jeep Rubicon and I still had to prove it was listed, and show the sticker.
California's Air Resources Board could care less how expensive it would be to make your ride compliant when it comes to aftermarket add-ons that really do change the air mixture.
Take the Pro-Charger off and sell it because it’s old technology and install a Roush supercharger from the money that you got from the pro charger and your kid’s college fund.
