IDK I feel like flaps hold a place in my heart during world disasters. After I installed the husky flaps on the rap it reminded me of how much I loved the look of the optional flaps on my 99 Tacoma during Y2K.

I’ve got the Gatorbacks front and rear. They work great for keeping mud off the handles, quarter panels and off of the running boards. I like the look.

The front ones have worked well enough off-road.

The rear are a disaster for me. They keep getting torn off or cut off when backing over sharp ledges.

The rear flaps hang down low enough that they get pinched between the ledge and the tire.

I’ve had two of them actually cut off about halfway and have had two ripped out of the fenders.

Smart truck sends me replacements but I’m looking for something more durable for the rear.

I’m running three flaps now...one of the rears is somewhere in the desert

No need to remove the flares. It’s a super simple install. It does help to remove the rear wheels, but can be done with rear wheels in place.

The flaps work great other than when backing over ledges .

How do the Gatorbacks compare to the Rokblokz, the Rallyarmor, the JLT, and the PDPs? I'm looking for something flexible enough that they won't break when I drop off ledges going forward. I've broken the stiff molded style on other trucks that way. It looks like the only PDP available now is a generic one-size-fits-all model. Anyone try them? How flexible are they? JLTs are made from ABS, which is often pretty stiff. Are these? Whoever wrote the Rallyarmor copy filled the page with prose and left out every important detail. Actual information would be very helpful. TIA

Gatorbaks are ok going forward over ledges. They get pinched between tire and ledge when backing over the ledge.

The GB’s do a very good job keeping mud off the sides, door handle and running boards.

I don't generally push very hard, so I'm not backing off things much these days. I have torn off mud flaps in the past doing just that. I figure pretty much any mud flap is likely to be toast if I'm backing off something, I just want one that won't break when I'm going forward.
