In my case the leak was all on the brake pedal and the rubber mat. It cleaned off the rubber mat easily and the dealership replaced the whole brake pedal assembly, so I never had any paint issues.
Brake fluid has a reaction with some rubber products as well and can cause it to swell or break down so watch your mat to be sure it's not dying on you. Weathertech's are pretty much impervious to it.

Was it coming from this? I just noticed a leak today on my Gen 2 and it's coming from the white reservoir connected to my brake assembly.

Does anyone know what this part is? Can it be replaced separately from the pedal assembly?

Thinking it might have to do with the adjustable pedals?
