The Salton Run - August 22nd
We will be meeting at the AMPM Gas Station of the 86 in Mecca, CA at 7:30 and leaving for the trail head at 8:00 am. The trail will start on " The Bradshaw Trail" This wide open corner drifting road will bring a smile to any Raptor owners face. This trail will take us from just North of the Salton Sea and end in Borrego Springs. The route will be about 150 miles on some scenic terrain. We will be making several POI stops on this run. The first stop will be Salvation Mountain for a truly amazing sight to see. Next we will travel east through Ocotillo Wells. This will give you an opportunity to let your Raptor Run free and enjoys some high speed roads. The last stop will be Font’s Point (A maze of sinuous channels, razorback ridges and mud hills) Once we finish the run we will make our way over to the world famous Cabbazon Dinosaurs in Palm springs for a great photo opportunity to put the Raptor around its kind. This run is a great run for the whole family, very kid friendly trails.
