I live in CA, but I ordered from Ohio, a non-CARB state. Just saw this and freaked out. Went through my VOC and noticed that it does in fact have CA emissions included as a no cost option, so I think I'm ok and my dealer knows what they are doing.

Ohio is next to PA, a CARB state. It is almost all adjacent states plus some others that can select the option.

Currently, 16 other states have either adopted, or are in the process of adopting, California's strict emissions standards. These states include New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, Maryland, Florida, and several others.

Just push the gas pedal as far as it will go, undoubtedly you will feel them horse's. The last thing on your mind will be carbs at that moment.

I initially was going to use a dealer in Michigan. First they said they couldn't order it with CA emissions. I pushed them and said it's a selectable option. After checking with his boss he said they could order it but wouldn't because if I backed out they wouldn't be able to sell it because no one in Michigan would be able to register it. I got off the phone and called the Michigan "DMV" (called something else in Michigan - they're weird), they laughed at me and said because a vehicle had stricter emissions standards wouldn't be a bad thing and certainly wouldn't prevent you from registering it in Michigan.

Called dealer back, gave them info they likely already knew. They agreed to order it but now wanted a $10,000 deposit refundable when someone else bought it if I changed my mind. **** that. I wouldn't mind committing to the truck, but they don't need a free $10k loan after jerking me around. Now couldn't imagine them having my money this entire waiting period.

They can order it. They're just telling you they can't. ********.

Florida repealed it CARB law a couple years after passing it
