Understood. With the issues they experienced with that GTR going off the track and I believe killing someone, I figured they were clamping down on the speed trials. I’ve still seen Porsche GT2 pull the record time so I guess it’s still an option.

The issue revolves around a recent lawsuit where a motorcyclist on a track day hit a sandbag that should not have been where it was. This was at Laguna and the track is being sued, along with the promoter. While I realize this was a closed track, this is the kind of stuff that lines them up for issues.

If the purpose was to pull a track time for some sort of record, I think it would be rather cool. Drifting on the other hand, is not what the Ring is about.

ford went there to film him on the ring in his formula D mustang but they got rained out so he went and got the raptor. In case you didn't know hes a pro drifter for ford.

Nice vid, steering with the throttle never gets old to me

Especially in the dirt. Can't say I don't pull a Vaughn every now and then on the road (especially if it is wet) but I've come to love corners offroad.

This is my first performance vehicle, but it is incredible just how controllable it is, even at some pretty sharp angles

I drove straight from the factory in Stuttgart to the ring with my C63 in 2012 and posted a pedestrian 15ish minutes going balls out (lulz what could go wrong huh?). The use of time clocks are prohibited to public drivers, however, but dash clocks are dash clocks.

Highly recommend even just taking a ring taxi if you get the chance.

nice I wonder wht time the gen 2 could get if driven all out. I saw the gen one did a 9.21 min. Id like to see what time it could do on street tires.
