Raptor cam phaser

Hello to everyone, I have been seining all the comments about ford raptor , in 2017 I had the opportunity to buy one but my luck it wasn’t good , 5000 miles engine went out , so trade for a 2017 super duty diesel , but my wife wanna another raptor cuz of the smooth ride , 2019 velocity blue , my question is after you change the cam phaser , for how long until you have the same problem, or that’s the end of it

Depending on when it was built, it may have the updated phasers.

Ford released a new calibration (recall 21B10) to prevent the issue from occurring. For those that had the issue already, the service part was redesigned to resolve the issue and prevent a reoccurrence.

I got my 2017 cam replacement at 94k, I'm at 119k now and the dreaded rattle is back. They didn't do the calibration, do you think if I got the calibration it would fix the the rattle?

If you already have the cold start phaser rattle noise, the software update will not fix it. The new software is preventative only, it can’t fix a worn out part.
