Utah Motorsports to Park City is over an hour.

After a full day in the truck and getting up early, it's just not worth it. Stay in west SLC or just stay in Tooele. It's only a night or two, the hotels are 'fine'. There are some decent local restaurants and bars.

If you take an extra day, stay in Park City, rent something sporty, then drive the small roads over to I-15. Make your way towards Sundance (Robert Redford) and drive UT-92 over the mountains. Lots of twisties.

Another thing to consider is SLC is currently a hot spot with over 600 new cases reported Friday alone. Read on their local news website they are implementing a mandatory mask law and if numbers continue to increase possibly closing bars/restraunts. So, may be little to no benefit of SLC vs Tooele in that scenario.

To each his own.

I cant imagine going out there just for a 1 day truck course. I made a long weekend of it and got some fly fishing and mountain biking in while in Park City. Plus much better restaurants in Park City. Skipped the dinner the evening before, so just 1 drive (about an hour) from Park City to the course, then straight to the airport and caught a flight the evening of the course. If by myself, maybe I would have done it different.

Just had to cancel. I was scheduled for Aug 15th and was going to take a week and see the sights and go up to YellowStone. But with the Covid and hot sports reappearing wife and I decided it wasn't worth the risk to drive out there from ST Louis and stay in different hotels with our son. I call the school and they won't let you reschedule into next year. Thought this year being pretty much shut down, they might have some expections.

The RA folks think so highly of themselves that no, they don't allow you to reschedule due to a pandemic. They feel sitting in a vehicle next to a stranger for 10 hours is a great idea. If you wish to take advantage of this life altering experience at RA, you must choose to risk getting sick, (maybe you'd be lucky and catch the "cold" version of Covid, or maybe, just maybe you are high risk or have high risk folks in your home and you or they get the death version?)- it's an easy choice, so RA believes.

If they shut down the school and/or local hotels/restaurants, you'll be able to reschedule. If all is open then it's on you.

And that's just the choice you have to make. If you're too afraid of your shadow and going outside, then stay home. If not go and have the time of your life!

I don't believe sitting in a car with a stranger and possibly getting COVID, and bringing it home to my family is worth having one day of fun, i'm not a selfish ***** and keep my family in mind. I get it you are such a tough guy, sitting behind your keyboard and all.

I'm not afraid of my shadow by any means. I've been at work everyday since this has started, no time off, not working from home, in the office for a logistics company getting food to you. But a day of fun driving 15+ hours and staying in hotels that we have no idea of how clean they are and sitting next to others for a day, not worth the risk.
