After watching that video of that '13 test mule for JTL, I'd say that every truck should have one. Lol. I'm going to order the black basic kit and mount the ************** like it should be. Might even order a second one and rig it for the drivers side.

ya i ordered the black one and mite still mount mine up. i'll see how much i like were it's mounted after i do the install and see how much room and movement there is it mite not be that bad.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys.
Many of the clear orders have been shipped and we expect to have black back from anodizing late this week, Thursday/Friday.
We have tons on B/O, but we'll try to get them out by Friday, Monday the latest.

As for the S/C guys, it should be an easy build. If your local and have a Whipple or Roush blower let's set up a time to come by the shop.
Thanks
Jay

Pat in my honest opinion, Ford's PVC system is antiquated as their IWE system..

Here is my take on them...

If you are blown/boosted/Raptor you need one..

The reason is offroad mode plain and simply..

Anytime you have high RPM you have low vacuum and piston rings do not seal and you have blowby. Add a blower/turbo then the problem is that much worse..

Yea that makes sense! So this can be installed on the 5.4? It's not just spacific to the 6.2?

Yes, a 5.4 can use one, but no this is specific plug and play for the 6.2.

All engines do this, it's normal, but if you can limit the amount of oil in the intake track it's good preventative maintenance.

Not to corret you dog, just info from my testing.

I have found that N/A cars see more oil or at least as much as S/C'd.
One reason is under boost the PCV valve is closed, so less oil is getting through.

In case my 2013 5.0 GT.
Stock, we collected a ton of oil every 1000 miles or so and now that it's blown, I get very little.

Food for thought.

Thank you for clearing this up for me.. I was under the assumption the positive crankcase ventilation help seat the piston rings, and that is why on a high mileage/boosted etc you see more blowby..

I use to get tons of blow by in my hemi charger.. I'd get about 4oz every 5K... it was ridiculous. I hope the 6.2L isn't as bad.. ordering a kit for the wifes mustang as well.

First time in a while that I've browsed the forum and I immediately spend money. Damn you all. Haha. Anyway, thanks for the 5% discount and putting together such a nice kit. Seems like relatively cheap insurance or piece of mind.

Believe it or not, I already have about a tablespoon of gunk in mine... I am sold/impressed! Then again I don't drive like everyone else!

Can somebody tell me what this is for/does. I just don't understand yet.

Short version.

The oil catch can separates oil vapors from the gasses that escape the engine through the crank case vent (PCV valve) during normal operation. For emission reasons these gasses are routed back into the intake track to be burned up in the combustion cycle. Since most stock engines don't utilize an oil separator the oily gases coat the throttle body & intake track leading to carbon buildup. The oil can also cause pre-ignition by reducing the effective octane of the gas.

There are allot of factors that effect how much oil vapor gets vented from the crank case but running at high rpm's is one of the worst. Adding the oil catch can prevent the possible damage that the oil vapor will cause.
