I didn't read the whole thread but the mid-engine vettes are already sold out right?

Like the Shelby you have to know someone or have a history or pay stupid money, am I wrong?

It would be hard to pick two automotive markets more different than the ones the C8 and Raptor occupy. I just don't think there is much if any linkage here in terms of the low price on the C8 somehow embarrassing or shaming other brands to lower their prices unless they have to directly compete with the C8 in the under $100k sports car segment.

I have had a number of Corvettes and Porsche's and enjoyed both, but high performance numbers at a low price usually isn't the only factor in a buying decision even for a sports car. Other things like build quality, driving and ownership experience are factors too. Still my hat is off to GM for bringing what promises to be near super car performance for a shockingly low price.

Finally C8's will probably have ADM attached for all of 2020 or longer until production ramps up. So if short supply and ADM makes it a $80-$90k car, the market will have made it's own judgement in the upwards direction making it easier on the competition initially.

I agree. C8’s will command a premium for the first couple of years. I noticed Raptors in the So Cal area that we’re selling for $10-15k over sticker are now being sold at MSRP. A good negotiator who shows up in person with checkbook in hand can probably do better. It all boils down to simple economics, supply and demand.

Maybe there will be ADMs... I don’t think I have heard of GM doing this yet. Most of their vehicles (including corvettes) are high volume.

But... here’s the deal. Because it’s a high volume car... do you really want to buy new? This same incredible vehicle can be had for $40k in 2-3 years... and nearly all them will be low mileage.

Gauranteed there will be ADMs on the C8. There were a ton of dealers charging ADMs on the C7 when it came out.

0-60 under 3 seconds with less than 500hp? I have to see it to believe it. BTW ... the online build configurator is horrible.

In regards to ADM it will vary greatly by dealer. I have a deposit in CA at MSRP, but know of a handful of dealers charging ADM, and know of a few others that are not or were not. One of those dealers that were not adding ADM sold out of there entire allocation within minutes.

My guess is if you are coming late to the game and want to buy now into the first allocation the MSRP ship has sailed...

C8s are available to order right now for MSRP all day long. My brother has 2 on order, is going to pay MSRP for the first one and probably invoice for the second one. You guys are nuts with your conspiracy theories.
