It may be competitive, and it may have some extra tq on the current iteration of the eco, but gives up some top end, but also lacks the 10r80, 4.10’s and the Rap’s weight advantage.

It’s good either way, competition improves the breed and the Eco is going on 8 MY’s old substantially unchanged. The fact that Ford Perf. hasn’t offered up a tune or other significant support for it suggests to me that in the Rap, the platform is maxed out in terms of Ford’s acceptable reliability QA standards. We may scoff at some of the obvious screw ups, but Ford puts a cr@p ton of effort into ensuring the powertrain will survive in the bitterest cold imaginable to Death Valley, under the kookiest of conditions.

It'll be 500 HP+ for sure. The 8 spd trans and steel body will make it a wash performance wise with the V6 Raptors.
They know the Ram guys still want a TRX, even without as much grunt.

How fast a truck accelerates at WOT is not really important for a lot of people anyways. As long as it's fast enough for normal use, and that's pretty much been taken care of with everything having 400+ HP nowadays.

yea it was a last minute attempt to compete with the trx. if not for the trx the r would have never been. ford has had a lot off issues with the r. oil leaks, engine replacements etc it’s clear the budget for the raptor was cut to fund the almighty ev lightning as ford is going completely woke and loosing M millions of $. have had my r for a couple of weeks and this is by far the worst quality raptor i have ever owned. it’s borderline laughable.
ain't gonna lie, my simple basic 13' raptor interior was built better than any current gen 2-3 raptor.
