Thoughts on radio mounting options/locations? Anyone have issues with the magnetic mount scratching up the roof?

Also what's the consensus with wiring, will the plug in the center console hold up or is it safest to just wire it to the battery or through the fuse box in the passenger foot well?

mag mounts don't work on Gen2s bc aluminum.

Get the antenna mount from PCI that sandwiches behind the 3rd brakelight. It is solid, easy to mount and makes everything work as it should.

Wire direct to the battery to minimize noise. you most likely wont need a signal filter.

Most will mount the radio in the center console. PCI sells a few different mounts, or you can just butcher the coin tray/organizer and mount it there.

1: duh, left my brain behind on that one.

2: solid option, GJ will be my ultimate solution but $$$.

3: didn't even consider noise it'd make, appreciate it

4: I'll check out the different mounting options, was planning on using the provided hardware but something more elegant is better.

Thanks again!

Now let me ask this, is there anyone in the DMV, hell NC/SC/PA/DE that can assist with setting up and testing these once acquired?

my radio has a remote head so i mounted the main unit behind the rear passenger seat and mounted the head with mic on the passenger side console.

Copy all.

Rugged Radios - VHF.

My next quesiton is, what channels do folks typically run for like SOS or info channels? (Remember, I'm new at this trucking and radio life)
this is a list of channels i have programmed into my radio. i added a 16th channel after the fact, but its the jerk pirates channel for the pismo beach/ocean dunes area. i dont have the frequency listedIMG_20180329_210918_01.jpgi have never had an issue with a group not using one of these channels. some radios allow for programming of a channel on the fly, however mine does not.
