My 2010 had to have the right side rear window replaced, due to the defroster overheating it. My 2013 had no problems.

2011 SuperCab with 70,627.9 miles.
Only issue was factory recall replacement of drive shaft, which really wasn't a reliability issue because I drove it daily right up to the day I drove it to the dealer to have the work done.

I have 88k on my '12 and the only thing I absolutely hate about it is the excessive wind noise on the driver side front door. I can't get rid of it.
The rear sliding glass squeaked like crazy, but white lithium grease on the tracks fixed that up.

Just an idea, there is a foam 'buffer' piece that fits inside the front fenders between the fender and the front frame. See them every time I take stock fenders off. It's not glued in place and I think, like most foam, it shrinks a little from time and heat. If that had fallen down or turned sideways, it might be adding to the wind noise you are hearing. Pop your fender out and see if that has moved. If you're real careful, you won't need to cut the adhesive that Ford applied to the inside of the fender near the door jamb.....

Sounds like an afternoon project. Off to google I go.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I'd say they're as reliable as the owner makes them. You take care of your truck, it'll take care of you. I've had mine for about a year now, keep up on maintenance as well as I can, then beat the hell out of it for fun, and daily driving. So far the only issue I've had is my drivers side leaf spring started squeaking when I hit bumps (I guess the protective coating used to keep the springs quiet just wore off). I can spray it with WD40 and it'll quiet down, but I really just need to get off my butt and "fix it" with a piece of bicycle inner tube and gorilla glue.

Gen 1 owners: how reliable is your Raptor? I know it won't have much bearing on Gen 2, especially in the first model year, but I am curious how well a Raptor rates in reliability and build quality compared to a normal F-150. Are they solidly built or can I expect squeaks and rattles and other issues? Thanks.

Squeaksand rattles are completely different than reliability.

I've driven my truck all over the Midwest and eastern US, put 110k miles on it and never once thought it would leave me stranded. Now I have had my share of components that needed to be repaired or replaced. But I've always made it home first.

Personally, I feel the 4x4 system is unreliable. I wouldn't wheel alone or without a winch. The power steering is unreliable, but you can still make it home without power steering. It sucks, but you can do it Popeye.

I've had wheel bearings replaced, steering racks (3x), idler pulleys, tension pulleys (2x), drive shaft, CVs, countless IWEs, fuse 27 (what a bear that was), and lots of little things, like wheel speed sensors, third brake light, etc...

I almost forgot, fuse 27 almost had us walking from the UP to NC. Luckily the Ford dealer got it fixed up. And that was before the tsb fix was available.

So is the truck reliable, absolutely. Does it have problems, absolutely. But really, what truck doesn't.
