Order banks should open in a week or so. You could have your dealer put the order in to their partner dealer for you. Production should start in August. Stay tuned as I'm sure there will be a thread as soon as order banks open stating what all the options are.

One must never get a Raptor if one dislikes attention. So unless you are an undercover agent in need of anonymity, I say go for it! Big fish in a small pond - Wow! A lot of heads will roll - to get a better look. 35,000 miles and zero major issues.

Yeah I'm planning to, FRF is a much much better source of info than any dealer.

Haha, my life isn't that exciting, I'm hoping the Raptor will put some into it, so I don't mind the attention. :))

I just cracked 40,000 miles (64,373km) in mine, no problems that weren't directly my fault. On a related note, I will caution you to watch the axel hop. The 6.2 makes A LOT of torque with all the tech nannies turned off.

YES, that is my drive shaft... err... half of it.

Axle hop is horrible in the Raptor.. yet people say the Raptor needs more power?

Reliability

Ihave been reading almost all the material that is avaliable on the internet regarding the Ford raptors. I love the muscles and the look of this creature.

For sure the impression that I have, Raptors are uniquely great trucks, but also have seen quite few owners complaining of a transmission slam and hard shifting.

What I don't know is the statistics and the root cause of this issue. I would still buy the truck if this is a quality control issue, but if it is a design issue, I will have a different thought.

I will be happy if the owners shedd some light on this issue if it is an issue at all.

Best regards

How do you expect owners to determine if these problems what you are reading a "quality control issue, or a design issue" ?
No one here is involved with the Company to know this so all you are going to get is more internet opinions about something we really know nothing about... Now if you wan to hear from owners how their transmissions are working that seems doable...

My 2010 had a crappy downshift from 6th to 3rd at 40 mph when you stepped on the throttle. I say 6th to 3rd but the really its the steps it had to go through to get to 3rd. 6th. 5th, 4th then to 3rd... This is when the strategy had trouble
My 2012 does not show the same problem. As a matter of fact my 2012 transmission seems perfect so far...

Reliability issues are no different than any other new vehicle, IMHO. If you are unsure, here's what you do:
Go to to a dealer with a new Raptor.
Look at it.
Walk around it.
Touch it.
Sit in it.
Then try to leave.
If you can calmly turn your head and leave, do so.
Buy something else.
But if. If you can't, hop on and enjoy!
Least that's how I got mine.
Expect we'll be seeing more of you, good luck.

Buy something else.

But if I decide to buy that something else and ask in that something else forum about reliability, maybe they will give me the same answer as yours. Which means I will be back here so I may as well just stick around.

its funny the forums i have been to in the past for any number of autos seem to just draw in every common and uncommon complaint for the pacific auto.
now this is great to research problems but you have to weed threw allot of crying bitching and im done with this crap threads and very little i love my auto or community.

NOW as far as i have seen this and other raptor forums is way different from that.
allot of i love this truck, im getting together with the guys, im buying some great items from the sponsors.i actually visted the raptor forums first to see if there were real world issues i couldnt live with and it blew me away. most are 98% bitching these are 98% raptor love.
