So after all this time, Crazy and his team have decided to just order what he wants and quit messing around! So the team realizes that this question has been asked before but needed a fresh update. So who has recently received or knows of a dealership that will let an order go at invoice or invoice minus holdback? Also if you know how much down they are requiring. It's time to get this done! The committee anxiously awaits your responses.

I paid invoice with $1000 down for the order on my 2019. I ordered in June, took delivery in August. This was a dealership I'd bought 3 vehicles from before and all through the same salesman. They had done all of the service on my '12 F-150 FX4 that I owned and was going to be trading in so they knew what they were getting. I got $21.5k for my truck and gave them another $10k when I took delivery.

I’d say order it quick before ordering closes on the 2020 model, I did. If the dealers believe as I do that there won’t be a 2021 model they won’t be as inclined to deal on a 2020 while they can still get one.

Agreed!

Also...there is NO way you are going to buy any Raptor at invoice minus holdback. It just is not going to happen. Holdback belongs to the dealer.

There might not even be a '22. And then the '23 would be gen 3, overpriced and less reliable for the first couple of years. So you could be out to '25 if you're not careful. I still think buying off the lot is safest. If word comes down from Ford between the time you order and the time you close, you could get royally screwed, and then, with the word out, you could be looking at MSRP + $10k anywhere you can find one in stock. If the timing of the money is the issue, then it might be a risk worth taking, but I wouldn't do it if I had the cash in my hot little hands ...
