Not sure why 8 out of 10 opinion threads always have to turn into a pissing match. The results are always the same.....I win. Count down to closure has begun.
Why? This is an amusing exchange of opinions and actually quite informative, even as a pissing match. Not every pissing match requires moderation. Some turn into helpful content, like those videos from @xrocket21 or @Badgertits experience with studs.

There are a few pissing match pros in here that should **** and go back to fortnite.

KO2s are good in the winter not great.

Nokian Hakka LT3 or LT2 (studded) are great.

Not everyone can legally run studs

I have run KO2s and Duratracs at many Snoball events and all over the country in winter both do well.

20 years of pro rally experience and many tire tests winter and summer allow me to comment on tires but it all comes down to driving style, ability and ones confidence in the end.

don’t get me wrong you don’t NEED snow tires by any means, just like you don’t NEED KO2s either on a 4x4 truck to go offroad, run some highway all seasons, bet they’ll do just fine right? The 4x4 & power will take care of the shit tires right?

why is it people will obsess over which AT or MT to use when even the most hardcore off-roaders on this site still put 80% of their miles ON road, & yet wanna argue against the benefits of a dedicated snow tire over ANYTHING else in the winter.

I get it, it’s not a “sexy” “mod” - but I have to LOL guys toil over which AT tire to run & barely push the truck or spend $3k on friggin led lights but a set of snows that will keep you, your truck, your family, & everyone else on the road safer & you’re a “wimp” or something for advocating for em

Sorry but you guys are just wrong and I’m sure, positive, that none of the people saying “nah you don’t need em” have never run em, period, on a truck.
Thats not what i said, I said I wouldn't run studded tires, my preference. Others like the OP should run winter tires, studs and chains, for god sakes, he's used to driving a Prius. Some people have never driven in the snow and ice, others have lived in those conditions and still can't drive worth a beans, look how many roll overs there are on dry pavement, let alone add in some snow and ice. Most people shouldn't even have a license, my gf for one, she tailgates and slams on the gas and brake all day long, I refuse to let her drive when I'm with her. You can put the best tires on the best winter vehicle and the idiot behind the wheel will still end up in the trees, look at SNOWBALL.

Let’s all remember who started the thread and asked the question. It’s a guy who can’t stop posting every 10 minutes and has nowhere he needs to be. I’m sure he’ll be ok with KO2’s this winter while he posts a dozen threads about tire pressure and shops the February sales for 22’s with studs for next year.

I agree about how bad many drivers are. We get a lot of ice, and pretty much snow, EVERY year. Yet, EVERY year you have goofs that live here and act live they've never seen, or driven in snow the first couple of storms. When I first got my license the first snow my dad took me to a giant empty parking lot and taught me how to do power slides, correct for washing out the front end, do donuts, in a nice safe spot. Tons of fun and then I knew what to expect. seems like most people just drive in it and hope they are lucky and not smash into anything.

Yes, not enough empty parking lots these days I guess, or too many people learn from video games, lol.
