Check the roof for dings or scratches, don’t know if that driver went under some low trees on the way to the dealer.

One of the very first search results from this forum is your very own list

I went to the stealership with a punch list of things previous purchasers had found, or from horror story posts here on FRF. Nobody wants to be the guy/gal on the side of the road in a truck you just drove off the lot with some major mechanical issue you could have caught in the stealership parking lot.

Thoroughly heck the interior for stains. It could have been used by @Oldfart as an, erm, "office" while he was earning for his Raptor ... Also sniff the seats to check for buttsweat.
:hat: I resemble that remark!

Check all the panel gaps, tire pressures will be 50+, oil may be low. My gaps were pretty bad as built. I actually had metal on metal on front left hood corner.

While I understand the philosophy behind this post, one should NOT have to do anything other than a quick look over and drive off. The PDI should include all fluids and systems check properly. Sure you will hear horror stories, but you can rest assured that 99.9% are good to go.

The most important thing is to make sure it's not a witch. Bring a duck with you and if your Raptor weighs the same as a duck, it's a witch, and you should not buy it. Also if it's made of wood it's a witch, and you should burn it. For reference:

I agree with the first part of your sentence above, but, the reality is that the truck is made by humans, for humans, transported by humans, and PDI is done by, you guessed it - humans. One thing we know about humans is that we are predictably inconsistent. I think statistically, you may be correct. Even with 3.5 or so hours at the stealership, I missed a flaw in the dash leather trim on the passenger side. Else, it was pretty darn good. i brought dial calipers with me to measure the panel gaps and it was remarkably consistent. I was just personally wary because I missed a major issue on my last new car purchase - a curbed wheel. The seller covered it for me but didn’t have to. Given this was 3x the cost of my previous new 4 wheeler, and, could have bought 3x Kawa H2’s for the same cost, I was a little more thorough.

And let’s be honest ... I was literally looking for something to be wrong, anything. A lot of people on FRF don’t have the same approach and I respect their life choices. I just didn’t want to be whining on FRF about not having a Raptor and having to fill the dead air with 5,200+ posts less interesting than a Joe Biden hosted SNL episode.

As @Socalbeachbum has confirmed, I can be a bit of a thread **** control enthusiast so when it came time to fork over the cash, I did the best I could to minimize my future interactions with stealership service departments.

This is true. Also, if your Raptor floats, it is a witch, don’t buy it.
