Question #1: 2020 or 2021 Gen 2?

Just find the best deal you can and pull the trigger on a '19 or '20. There are no guarantees on anything newer. Since I know you're a realtor, you should consider it like "land", they aren't making any more of it, as far as we know.
If you sit around waiting on the best absolute deal possible, you will likely have to settle for something that's not exactly what you want. Not saying it's not possible, but after a few months of driving it, you'll forget about a grand or two, either way.

My way of thinking also. I'm keeping it a long time so whether it's $67, 70 or 72, I'm going to get exactly what I want.

I agree with what everyone else has said - no MY21.

What exactly are you looking for (color, options, SCREW/SCAB)? What are you planning to do with it?

I ordered a 2020 in December.

During the perpetual delays, my dealer tried to trade for a similar one at another dealership in mid-Missouri....but failed every time.

The good news...My 2020 was built on June 4...and should be delivered early July.

For now, I plan to go slow ...I won't be spending big $ in the after-market.

I want to wait and see if the 2022 Gen 3 lives up to expectations.
(Who knows... maybe Ford will have improved the intercooler design so you can just "bolt on a winch" (without replacing the intercooler).

If so...I'll get in line for the Gen 3.

I've waited long enough to get back on the trails.

don't bet on it. If a manufacturer had to design their vehicles around aftermarket products it would never get released.

I got my 2020 six weeks ago. Six months ago, I had the mindset that I would wait to see when the gen 3 would come out or if the 2021 would have a supercharged V8.

Once we were a month into the pandemic, I started researching 2020 deals and contacted four dealerships that had a Raptor with the options I wanted. My negotiating leverage did not turnout to be what I thought when one dealer told me in April that the Raptor production had stopped for the year so they weren't in a hurry to get them off the lot.

To make a long story short, I haggled with a different dealer to get a loaded Raptor at $71,000 with MSRP of $74,185 and a dealer invoice of $69,148.49. The only way they would take my offer is if I came in that day to purchase, which I did.

My point for saying all of this is that I am 100% convinced that I made the right decision to jump on a 2020 and not to wait for the unknown. I also wanted to give a perspective of how dealerships are positioning, at least back in April, and in Southern California where our state screws us all the time with extra expenses (over 6k in taxes).

Buy it, my friend. And, be ready for daily compliments!

I am 100% convinced that I made the right decision to jump on a 2020 and not to wait for the unknown.

This is exactly how I feel. I would, though, since I bought, and bought off the lot instead of ordering. Gotta justify my actions, after all. But with all the supply line disruption going on, four Ford intros scheduled for next year, maybe(likely) no Raptor in '21, not wanting the first year of any generation, and the decent deals available, I went for it. I would make the same decision again. And I'm thrilled to have it now instead of maybe getting it who knows when.

I think you should wait till 2021, then buy a 20 but tell everyone it's a MY 21 just to F with them.
