I was asking if the sound & the video inputs together were in sync or if they were slightly out of sync, not if the sync 3 system was working

I assume you are using this to watch audio/video from another source, correct? Such as a DVD player?

If so is the sound lined up with the video playback or does the sound lag behind so it does not line up with the video of the person's mouth talking?

It will have lag. I think it is like 1 sec. Because they are using the same brain.
