Are referring to the the wire that is clipped to the studs, if so just remove the wire from the clips, fold it up to the brake line and zip tie to it.

I think that's the one. In the pic you can see a wire that is attached to one of the bolt heads. That is the one I was talking about. But I'm sure it can be zip tied someplace else. I was just checking to see if it is anything important. Thanks for the input.

I just zip tied mine to the brake line, plus it puts it high and out of the way.
I believe that's the ABS wire.

Ya I got down and looked at it more. It's actually on both sides and it is the brake line itself. The line is connected to the diff. Now looking at other pics in this thread I can see other peoples like look like they just run across the top of the diff. I guess the line can be moved up and stay up without the brackets it's mounted to on the diff.

You diff looks pretty rough as well. Has Ford just given up painting them? My wife's Explorer diff looks brand new and totally black without any rust. Her car is older than mine. He'll yours looks brand new compared to
Mine.

Haha I'm not sure. But for only a few months old it is pretty sad. My father-in-law has a 2005 F350 and my diff looks about like his.

What the hell is it about Ford trucks that the diffs all look rusty. Stop by my buddies house tonight. He has a new super duty that is totally rusty.

I actually left the line clips on and simply ran some small zip ties through them and zip tied them to the hard brake line that runs above the diff.

So i have been busy and not got around to installing my rock guard today and after taking out a few bolts from the diff I noticed that oil starting coming out somewhat quickly so I went ahead and put the bolts back in and tightened it all up. So I was never able to get the guard on. People said that the seal is good enough to take the bolts out, but mine sure was not. Did this happen to anyone else? I'm not sure how I'm going to install in now. I feel stupid having to take it somewhere to get it done, but I don't want to screw up my diff.
