Wow, did you pick up on an order that was already in process that the dealer ordered previously or was this a brand new spanking order?

Brand spanking new to my knowledge. According to the dealer the only one they had inbound at the time was a Special Edition, which at the time I debated. I was told the GM has a great relationship with the Ford Rep (don't they all lol) so not sure how much, if at all that may have helped. When I followed up with Crystal today I was surprised to hear I had VIN.

Sometimes a dealer will have an order in but some time up to build date they can make changes to it. I personally know someone else who placed what he thought was a new order and it was built in two weeks but later found out the dealer actually put the order in months ago and changed it to his liking. Some of the folks here can look it up and actually see if that was the case. Doesn't really matter though, yours is moving right along and that is all that matters.

Did you do a pre-trade-in on your truck or are they letting you do that when it comes in?

I would imagine that may be the case...especially given that the SE was "on order." I had actually told them that I'd take a look at that one if it was in before mine, but they had said "yours was bumped ahead of the SE" so I think you may very well be 100% correct...either way, like you said it's moving right along! I remember you originally posting and how long the wait was over on the F150forum and all I could think was "i would be going absolutely insane!" with that type of wait.

i was given a price on my trade that is good from the day of the order for a certain number of days...i forget how long it was but when i asked if my order took till august how much i would lose, sales manager just said "keep the miles low, you'll be good" we will see about that when the time comes. but since january i think i've put maybe 2500 miles on her. most of my mileage (8k) was late last year when my wife was pregnant and i was taking her back and forth to her dr every 2-3 days about 45 miles each way.

Good deal. I did the same thing. I was told that I might get it by April and they would give me $29-$30k if I kept it under a certain miles but always kept it a cash deal and said that the trade was always optional. I found a few better offers while I waited until almost the end of March so they actually gave me about $1000 more for my trade then we originally spoke about. Oh they wanted my truck as they ended up selling my truck in about 40 days, for $3k+ than what they gave me. So they made out well and I was happy with the whole thing.

nice, that's always the best way, keep it a cash deal and leave the trade option open. this dealer actually gave me about 4k more for my trade and was significantly lower with pricing out the door than all the dealers I visited, and I went through a ton here in nnj. i play on an amateur baseball team with a sales manager for a ford dealership that was telling me a 5k markup was the minimum. when i told him about the deal i got, he immediately said "yea right, no way in hell, probably never get built." this same dealer back in september tried to sell me my exact FX4 at MSRP with 0 rebates...I just got up and walked out (he wasn't involved with that deal)...they would NEVER get my business, not just b/c of pricing, but b/c they were probably the most unlikable group of salesman I had ever spoken to. the sales manager btw is a real good guy, but he's been told to sell it with a markup or wait for the next guy...
