I'm curious to see what your magnet picks up.
I've gone 200k+ miles on late model Ford trucks with the same steering system components that our Raptors have without a failure and the fluid still looked clean (to the naked eye) at that intverval. With that said, I've read about a lot of power steering failures in Raptors on this forum and I'll admit that since day one my truck has exhibited an ever so slight "whine" during turns.
I did have a power steering pump go bad in a Ranger many years ago. After the failure, the fluid appeared to have a bronze/brass tint to it. I wonder if the more commonly worn parts in a power steering system would be attracted to the magnet.
