In Loomis area actually. I have been trying to look for trails to rally on but have no idea where to start

Just head east on 80 Reno, to hwy 447. Pyramid lake is a nice destination and the black rock desert is just a few miles up the road. Otherwise, you have the mountains at your back door. The railroad tracks can also be fun.
