Hey guys/gals!
Ive been wanting a Raptor for a few years now, and think I am finally ready to pull the trigger!

Any tips or links would be appreciated!

I'm still a bit fuzzy on whether getting an aftermarket bumpstop kit for 11-12 is as effective as just buying a 13'-14' or would that money be better spent on a 13'?
Im looking at buying a truck at a non ford dealership, what kind of troubles could I run into with buying a Ford extended warranty?

Last concern is, should I wait till september/october to buy, as more used may hit the market on 17' trade ins. I would guess a lot of garage queen trucks might be traded in.

Truckless in Michigan....

I think having a bumpstop kit will help regardless of the model year. Some believe that you're better off without one but I don't necessarily agree.

I bought my current truck at a non-Ford dealership and didn't have any issue getting an extended warranty. You'll need to go to your local dealership to get an inspection done prior to getting the warranty. This may be free depending on your relationship with your dealer.

I don't expect the value of the gen1 trucks to drop that much. There will be plenty of people who prefer the looks (and v8) of the gen1 over the new one. Surely there will be guys dumping their lightly used trucks just to get in the new one though...

Also, there might be a truck with all of the "must-have" upgrades (leafs, bump kit, methods etc) hitting the market soon.... oh and it already has a Ford PremiumCare extended warranty...

I'd go with a 13 or 14 over an 11 or 12. Between purchasing and installing new bump stops and headlights you mise as well just upgrade the year if you have the money. Also go with a 12 over a 11 if you can.

12 gives you front and rear locking differentials, front camera, and a better interior IMO
