I was your age once and between then and now I have owned a distinguished list of trucks and exotics which means that I've lost more money on cars than some people make in a decade. All I can say is think it through and don't put yourself in debt to do it.

Here's a few thoughts to ponder....after seeing the new Ford trucks at NAIAS, and ogging the 2015 (with an aluminum, EcoBoost Raptor being conspicuously absent), If I were thinking of buying NOW, I would save like a mad-man on a mission and wait for the 700lb lighter version with the EB engine. But that's me, and that's coming from a guy who owns a 2011 with a 6.2. Don't get me wrong, I love this truck hands down and have no plans to part with it....until the aluminum, EB Raptor makes the scene...which I predict it will soon enough. By that time, you should have a bunch of equity and some mod or travel money. Even though these trucks hold their value much better than average, unless you are paying 7-figures for a museum piece, they aren't "investments" and never look at wheels as such.....for that matter, never look at a house you buy as an "investment" either. IMHO, $60K income and a Raptor out front of your apartment is a huge financial risk to your financial health and the financial off-road trail is littered with the rusting carcass' of big dreams and busted personal balance sheets.

P.S. Having said all that, sometimes you just have to say "What the ****."

……if you keep it forever…then it costs just "pennies a day"……

Or you can wait 30 years and just write a check for whatever you want…..

Oh man…to be 22 again…..!!!

Don't do it man…..I know how bad you want it….but you got bigger fish to fry right now…

Get a nice used truck that you can pay cash for and save money for that house you want to buy….don't go into any debt if you can help it….

The race is long….don't be in a hurry to sign your life away….

Man…what a drag it is getting older….you end up stomping on some youngsters dreams….

Life ain't fair…it just ain't….

No way I'd get a raptor with a 2 . Something eb.. nothing less then a 5.0 twin turbo or a 6.2.

I think the truck EB is a 3.5 or 3.7 twin turbo. Might have lower displacement choices as well but Ford is killing the 6.2, and you might have to turbo the 5.0 yourself, not sure.

I remember when I was a teenager... I went to the local Ford dealer and they had a black '88 Mustang GT sitting on the showroom floor - exactly like the one on the front of the '88 Mustang brochure. I've dreamed of that car ever since. Now that I can afford one, I can't find one (original/stock)...and I regret not buying one in my early 20's when I could have afforded it.

It's up to you to justify the purchase of a Raptor, or justify the delayed gratification to postpone your purchase and improve your net worth first. But keep in mind if you delay, just like my '88 GT, you may one day regret not getting it. There are certain vehicles that absolutely WILL change your life...from the strangers you meet, new friends you make, and the impressions made upon the opposite sex. Everything in life is about human emotion and happiness. Just ask yourself, what is happiness to you? Follow your heart, just have the mindset to direct it.

Memories are priceless. You will never be this young again. Regrets are a bitch.
