Well I feel lucky, my local dealer in Madison, AL cut my Gen 1 key for free and offered to program it for $75 I think. I declined the programming and asked them just for the cut. Once it was cut they even was programmed the chip while checking to make sure it worked in the ignition. Took him all of 8 seconds with some specific ignition turns. I later programmed the buttons myself thanks to YouTube. I had to replace the original due to a INOP door unlock button. The cheap Amazon key replacement I’ve been using isn’t holding up as well though, the unlock button is already starting to flake out on me and sometimes I turn the key and nothing happens, but always works on the second attempt. Maybe I’m not that lucky after all.
