2018 Truck with 105k miles and the phasers were rattling even driving down the highway. Upon front cover removal, there was a big hole in the intake phaser. I'll post a photo here soon.
I purchased the Cam Phaser kit through Freedom Racing and replaced everything I could. Took longer than I anticipated. Also realized how much nicer it is to work on off-road race cars in comparison to factory vehicles.
Timing was done correctly, if you've had to front cover off you know that everything is key-wayed and the dots are there to keep it 90% idiot proof.
Well, engine is turning over but not firing. Getting a whole slew of codes. The scariest one saying: P0022 Bank 2 Timing Over - Retarded. Bank 2 too lean, some other misfire codes, Throttle Position sensor, Turbo Boost sensor.
In my research today I discover that the new solenoids could be the issue but they all measure out equally at 8 ohms across the board.
Everything seems to be plugged in, but there's been monkeys in my engine bay stepping on hoses and wiring so I'm sure we could have wiggle / pulled something loose.
If anyone has any advice or would like other correlating codes, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
