Hi, Question is... what should I be paying for a 2010 Raptor with the 5.4L V8.. I found a dealer that has 2 in their inventory... I'll have to check tomorrow to confirm that they are 5.4L engine????

I'd prefer the smaller engine to save on the fuel aconomy, purchase price and may be get a better deal as they have been on the lot for some time...

My first issue, if they are still available, is if the tires are flat spotted??

Any info, recommendations, comments???

Thanks Tom

Good question. Talk to the Internet Sales or Fleet Dept they can work the best deals. Invoice is somewhere around 4,000 off sticker. The 5.4 doesn't get any better mileage than the 6.2 so if the $3,000 difference in the 2 isn't a huge deal you might want to consider the bigger engine. If I would have had an option I would have opted for the 6.2...just my .02 good luck!

Thanks, I thought the 6.2 was rated at 11-14 and the 5.4 was rated at 14-18... what kind of numbers is your 6.2 giving you?

Well, I think you are wrong there about the mileage... My best on my truck has been 20.2 of course I was going 60mph but, the 6'2 aint getting 20 mpg at anytime... I constantly get 18 on the road and 14 in town... And 3k for the 6.2 is 1000 gallons of fuel for the 5.4... all depends on what you are going to use the truck for... full time truck i would go with the 5.4 occasional use 6.2

I'm not wrong about the mileage it's my truck and I see what I'm getting ;) I'm not getting anything near 20 on my 5.4 best ever was maybe 16...I average 13-14 combined town fwy driving. I don't drive 60 anywhere though. Around town I get 10. If it was me I would get the 6.2 but thats just me...mpg wasn't a thought when I bought the truck.

You need to change the intake air location... I am drawing my intake air from the SVT side vent with a 4in tube custom intake system I made... You can get good stuff from here..
Airaid - Intake Systems go to the you build it...

let's not turn this in to a gas mileage thread but if your budget fits better with a 5.4 option, you will not be disappointed. with either engine your gas mileage will be pretty bad if you drive the truck hard. for me it was either having the Nav, Lux package and rear camera vs. the bigger engine and I think with the money I was able to spend I get more use out of those options than more horsepower. like was said above, 3-4k below sticker for a nicely equipped 5.4 would be a great deal.

We got a 6.2L with everything but nav for $42000.00 New. We did trade in a vehicle too. ( I think you have better odds getting a better deal without a trade. )
