Filled up with 91, all they had, in Maine on the way home pulling a trailer. Got 9 mpg.
On the way up used 93, good NH gas, and got 11 mpg.

Use the good stuff !!!
That’s awesome and at the same time frustrating for someone like me in AZ who only has access to junk 91 E15.

Patiently waiting for Goose to work up some tunes for this truck but I might end up just going with a JB4 so I can run E30.

Math is not my strength, so please burn after reading. But I was doing some figuring last night. With a $.70 spread between 87 and 93, given that 93 returns about 1.5 mpg increase, the net cost of running 93 is between $.20 and $.29 per gallon used.

That was using 14.5 mpg and 16 mpg. Anyone else put a pencil to it?

I drove cross-country to get my Gen 3 and when driving back I was able to stop at a Costco and put 91 in the entire way home. Had it all planned out on the route, and it cost me about $800 total to go from the Atlantic to pacific. If cost is an issue, I'd say costco is the way to go.

Sounds about right. Regular will save some pennies. Not worth it to me, but if you don't get on it and can't afford gas, it's a viable option.

I think under load and when more boost is applied, 93 will really shine. Allowing more timing really helps.

You drove from the Atlantic to the Pacific and always filled up at Costco? That’s disappointing at so many levels. Missed opportunity for the Trans America Trail
