Ok final update.

The dealer replaced the two pulleys. The tensioner and the idler pulley above it. Remarkably that was what was causing the whining noise. I'm relieved that it wasn't the power steering pump. It sure sounded like it. I had the belt tensioner replaced earlier this year (spring). So I suspect it was the idler making the noise.

Night Raptor is finally home and I'll be able to get some prep done for snoball. Looking forward to getting the Duratracs back on and the O2 sensors spacers installed.

Apparently that is what mine was doing. It would warm up and settle down. Check the tensioner for the noise.

Thanks for the update, Yukon Joe; I'm glad your dealership got you fixed up! :)

It might be time to get this in front of your dealership, Hole Shot. If you'd like, you can wait for a very cold day so you won't have any issues replicating it for your tech. How many miles are on it?

Well, this is an old thread, but my Power steering pump went up again!! Last weekend having off-road fun in the snow, it craped out again! Truck is back in the shop. This will be #4 replaced. WTF! I need a real fix for this issue. Anyone have a solution! So frustrated
