So I’ve been having some starting issues with my 2012 where it will start cranking for a few seconds then just stop, you just hear a thump after a few cranks to and it stops, all other electricals stay on. When I go to retry it starts up completely normal. I had a new aftermarket starter put on a few months ago but I’m thinking maybe the solenoid on it is shorted or something. I also tried a continuity test (I think it’s a valid way). With the truck off, I clamped one lead onto the small stud on the starter solenoid which I believe goes to the ignition, and touched the other lead to the starter solenoid housing. I was getting sporadic in and out beeping on the meter. Anyone have any knowledge on this? I’ve attached a video of the starting issue
