I know there's been a couple of threads on this, but I wanted to ask here as this seems a little different:

At a stop (either in drive or park) I can slightly turn the wheel to the left and right and hear a slight popping noise. It happens at slow speeds too as well as braking and initial acceleration.

I had a neighbor come over and stick his head under the truck while I simulated the noise in the driveway. At first he thought it was coming from the driver's side, then he thought it was coming from the passenger's side. Ultimately, he couldn't tell.

It's on mid perch.

Any ideas?

Just noticed it in the last day or so.

Thanks,
Matt

Any mods? I can't remember.

Check your engine skid. (back skid) It may be contacting your frame and junk. Mine made the same noises and that was the problem. Took forever to figure out.

Yeah I went out again and took another look and my second skid plate is dent in really good. That would make the popping noise? I'll take it off this weekend and bang it out (lol).

I had this. I thought I broke something. Where the 2 skid plates meet, there are 2 bolts there. Above them are 2 dimples in the frame to avoid hitting the frame. Mine got hit so hard it blew the bolts in through frame. The sound your hearing is the threads on the bolts grinding in and out of the frame from the flex. Take the plates off, bend them back and your good as new.
BTW these plates are tough mothers, we had to run mine over with a tractor.

Thanks guys. Hopefully this is it. I want to go out with the sledge and bang on it now, but I bet I'd **** off the neighbors. :)

Thanks again.
