Pondering going from 2011 Supercrew -> 2013 Supercab

Thinking about going to a 2013 Supercab from the current 2011 Supercrew. I was extremely on the fence about Supercab vs. Supercrew. I do like the utility of the crew but honestly rarely make use of it.

I'm also starting to become a bit annoyed with my decision to go black. It's a beautiful color, but it's parked outside and it just seems to look awful far too much of the time as a result. Black needs a garage. I think the next one will likely be white....or maybe Race Red (are Ford's red colors known to stand the test of time in the sun? Toyotas literally do turn pink.)

And any idea what I could realistically expect to get for mine? It's black with the "standard" black/silver interior and has every option except graphics (Luxury, Navigation, Sunroof, Camera+TBC, Bed Extender, Tailgate Step). Only noteworthy mod is a Line-X. 12K on it currently, likely 16k at time of sale (Nov/Dec, with 1 yr of warranty left at that point). Only about 100 miles off road (I know, I suck...no time lately), no trail pinstriping, never jumped, skidplates still look pretty. Interior and exterior in excellent condition, and I haven't seen the wear a lot of people have on the driver's seat.

This is pretty darn hypothetical though. May wind up doing more camping this year and change my opinion on giving up the crew, at which time I'd likely just keep the one I have... overall very happy with it.

blue flame Scab is the way to go! Just remember no matter what you choose you wont be wrong because you picked a RAPTOR either way

I think you'll really miss the screw once you get the scab. Especially since you started with the screw. You may think you don't use it much, but you actually use it more than you think.

Idk how much you'd get for yours but good luck!

Id go for the scab. My last two trucks were screws and when I went with the Raptor I ordered the scab because I never used the extra space. Haven't had any issues or missed the space yet! Love this truck!!

As for the color, I love my black one. The new race reds do look sweet though. My bro have a red f150 and it is 5 years old, kept outside and it is still red.

For a while after first riding in my buddies SCrew, I thought about trading into one. Then the more I thought about it, the more I realized the SCab suits me better. I have passengers in the backseat maybe 10-20% of the time tops..... And personally I value the added offroad prowess of the SCab more than I do the leg comfort of my occasional backseat passengers.

Whenever I do end up getting my next Raptor, I'll re-debate cab size, but unless I'm gonna get another offroad vehicle and start towing more, I'll probably get another SCab. I've romped both sizes offroad and I far prefer the short drifty wheelbase of the SCab.

Sounds like your truck is in great shape Droid. I'd call or email Randy and get his advice as to the perceived market value of your current Rap.

I would go for a SuperCab if they didn't make baby seat's so damn big, it's a joke how much room they take up.

i was horrible on washing it and waxing it too. infact i think ive washed me Raptor more times since Oct. than i have that F250 in the 9 years i owned it.... so that said i think it held up very well.

definately go with the scab. especially if you dont use the extra room of the screw.
and i think either white or blue flame. but those are just my favorites. take a look at each in the sun and decide from there. and dont forget the '13 will have the new color.

Thanks eveyone! Need to go down to a dealer and test drive a Supercab just as a refresher. I think I'll be fine with the reduced space though.

To those with MyFordTouch in 2012 or earlier vehicles: have you upgraded to the 2013 software yet? If so, is it still slow?

I actually find the Raptor Nav to be a bit clunky. I do a lot of work with the user-interface end of software for a living, so I tend to find a lot of faults with most automotive systems, as they all tend to have various degrees of suck.

Okay first the scab has a much smaller gas tank so keep that in mind. Second having owned a F150 scab with those rear suicide doors I found them highly irritating and the doors didn't seem as secure as a real 4 door with a pillar. I think the scab "looks" better than the screw, I could probably put up with the irritating suicide doors, but the smaller gas tank no.
