GEN 2 POLL: SPD Trombone - do you drone?

I was slow at work today and installed the spd pipe. I have a 2017 w/65k and stock exhaust. It gives the truck a good exhaust note. It’s way quieter that a Rouch f-150 w/active exhaust. I drove it on the freeway at 65/75/85 to see if there would be the dreaded drone. It didn’t not drone for me. Wot is when this comes alive. Im overall pleased with the sound of it.

Pretty interesting mine drones at 40 miles an hour. Slight Excelerator push if I’m driving around in sport mode that’s pretty much where sixth gear is just riding around town.

So hows the install for these? Is it just a matter of unclamping the old and reusing the hardware? or are we cutting and welding? Mine didn't come with any hardware or general instruction and I'd prefer to do as little damage as possible to be able to easily swap back to stock.

Install was easy, no cutting required. Unclamp resonator and slide the muffler back. Remove the stock resonator. Install the SPD trombone. Check the bottom of the SPD box (under packing foam) for a small bag of hardware. If you hardware bag is missing you’ll need two bolts and nuts to bolt it up. You could easily swap back to oem.

FS: SPD Trombone - GEN2

Have a used SPD Trombone for $629 shipped CONUS. It was installed on the shop truck for about 2 weeks, used less than 150 miles. Was designing an aluminum skid plate for it.

So I did find the bolts hiding under the foam...FINALLY had a momment of me time and tried to install this thing BUT my factory clamps have the nuts facing upward toward the bottom of the cab. I could not get to it with any combination of tools. Anyone else run into this?

I did it with a 3/8” ratchet with a swivel head, it was a little tight but doable.

I ended up ordering an assortment of tools; 15mm crowfoot, ratcheting wrench, medium depth socket, tite-reach extension, and wrench extender adaptor. Something is bound to work. Might be a few more days before I mess with it again because I sprained the absolute **** out of my wrist trying to loosen that MF hard to reach nut yesterday. FML

took some readings of the drone (between 86 to 118Hz) wish I had an RPM gauge in the scans, but these were all around 1800-2200rpm
