Cafe standards are going up which is why all manufacturers are letting go of thirsty V8's in the SUV, Truck and passenger car lines.
2025 standard is 54.5 mpg across line up.

And that's really a misnomer on CAFE standards vs mpg and then when you actually look at the F150 sized trucks, you'll see there's only a 4 mpg (19 to 23) increase at the F150 size by 2025 on the epa sticker and we know what the Raptor actually contributes to that total (almost nothing).

Do you guys just want the V8 for the "sound" if it was less powerful than the ecoboost?

Sound is definitely part of the experience of overall experience. Just like it was (and is) with muscle cars. Who wants a 3.5l eco when you can have a thundering 427 or 428 or appropriate engine at the time.

Reliability in a dusty desert environment is also a long term (and shorter) concern. Raptor outings are quite dusty at times!! Our 6.2 has proven to be rock solid in these trucks with many in the 100-200k range with no issues. Just talked to a guy who uses his as a pre-runner and it's got 150k on it. No issues.

Still don't believe that they went with that engine. Oh well...

How many people would buy a V6 if a V8 was offered with same power with less MPG? My point is that if a V8 is available I would want one. Just like I waited 3 months to get a 6.2.

It appears that there are 46 people, at least 25% or higher, hopeful that a V8 is offered. I know I would rather have a V8 for all the wrong reasons (or so I've been told over and over and over......)

Plenty haven't taken the poll, I'm on tapatalk and can't see it, I don't want this generation at all, but the only way I'd buy is if it had a v8.

While the Gen 2 maybe a better truck in a lot of ways, insert opinion, you Gen 2 folks may wanna beat another horse. Saying you don't care for a V8 is kinda like Hillary saying she does care about our soliders, a lie. I kinda took a poll of my own- if you own or are looking at a Gen 1, you guessed it, 100 per cent have a V8 and most a dang big one! Just sayin
