It is good to dream.

What transmission do you suppose they would mate to a TTV8 in the Raptor?

I don't know. I am skeptical of the 10 speed, though. I find 6 to be more than enough. I hope they have good programming for these things. Looking forward to hearing feedback from all the Gen 2 guys.

2 whole posts in 5 1/2 years. Yeah, you're qualified to have any kind of an opinion when it comes to the Raptor. Keep in mind, cavemen are the ones out there in the shit getting it done while you house dwellers are sitting around waiting for us to bring dinner home.

The V6 is woefully small for the Raptor the way us cavemen use them. It will be great for the mall-crawlers and street kings. I think we know which category you fall in to.....LOL

It's cute to see someone who is under the impression that post count has anything to do with intelligence or anything else for that matter. Keep that ego up tiger, it doesn't sound like you've got much else to go on.

Sigh. Why don't you tell us why it's a good thing to put a small engine in a full size truck that's meant for offroading. Start with all your scientific tests and data, most of which I assume were based off limiter banging your little shit box as you leave the parking lot of your community college.

Get a pen and paper out tiger, you might want to draw a picture. Because torque wins. If you have driven any ecoboosted anything, then you already know that motor will hole-shot the shit out of that lazy N/A 6.2 in any form. Would you rather mat that pedal and keep waiting for your v8 to start making power, or be gone already because you had full boost the moment you put your foot down? Proper fuel management and boost will get you further than N/A as far as pedal response instant torque any day of the week. I don't need you to agree with me or respect my opinion. But if you'd like to come find me with your v8 truck I'll be glad to show you what's good, the math is not in your favor. Specs don't care about your precious v8 allegiance or feelings. The gen 2 trucks have already been confirmed to be faster than s/c'd 6.2 trucks, yet you think you're the bright one.

Instant torque. Now that's cute.

I guess the laws of physics don't apply in your world :)

Not at all, I know what I'm talking about. You're saying words but not going anywhere. Like I said, I invite you to track me down with your v8 truck when I get my gen 2, then you can taste that pride when you get mercilessly broken off over and over and over again. Throw your $.02 back at me tiger

You clearly do not know what you're talking about if you think a turbo can generate instant torque :)

And I definitely get that the new trucks are quick. They are 500 pounds lighter, after all. Again, physics :)

Why don't you both meet each other at TRR17 and see who can go around the 42 mile track the quickest.
But if @20psirabbit is talking a street race, who cares....

Here are the options Ford had to choose from and I think they made the right choice. Ya'll ought to be excited that Ford is putting a performance tuned version of this engine in the Raptor.

6.2L V8
411 hp @ 5,500 rpm
Torque:
434 lb-ft @ 4,500 rpm

3.5L V6 II
~450 hp @ ~5,500 rpm
Torque:
~470 lb-ft @ ~ 1,700 rpm

Raj Nair already stated the Raptor will be at least 450 hp.

If you want sound, buy a boom box and play sucky HEMI sounds out the rear window and take pictures of your friends smiling.

I will take performance, regardless of how it sounds. If you don't like it don't buy one, go get yourself a dodge "Power Wagon."
