Yes, It's a stupid Law until you are the officer that stop a car running a red light at 4 o'clock in the morning and can't see inside the driver or the passing seat! That's how a lot of Officer get shot, because they can't see what's inside the vehicle not to mention you can't see shit out of your dark tinted glass at night.

I can second this. To all of you saying tint laws are stupid and petty, try stopping a car and walking up on it with pitch black windows and not knowing who or what is inside and then come talk to me about your feelings.

If the job is too dangerous for them, or they are too afraid to do it, I would suggest them getting another job. A police officer doesn’t even make it into the top 10 list of dangerous jobs.

Yeah, let's finish what the defunding movement started. Let's get run off all the cops who do it for the right reasons and keep the ones on power trips. Brilliant.

correct, a doctors note saying anything in relation to uv and sunlight can give you an exemption to a certain extent. we do a lot of 3m crystalline 90% on windshields. basically see through but blocks a ton of heat and almost all uv.
I have 3m crystalline on all my cars, just finished having it installed on my wife’s new Tesla (ouch, that was expensive having to include the glass roof), and I can attest to this product working well. I went the cost effective route with my kids cars on a lower end I bought them with a lower end 3m tine and there is a noticeable difference with heat reduction. Worth every penny.

At what point did you decide that you would make up your own narrative of what I said and completely ignore what I wrote. No where did I say defund the police except your brain apparently. I just stated statistics and the fact that if someone thinks their job is too dangerous and they act based on that fear, maybe they need a new job where fear won’t dictate their actions.

When I get pulled over I roll them all the way down and have hands on the wheel. Officers if they see dark windows can tell the driver to get out. It is no risk to the officer unless he or she makes it one here in California.

without getting political on this thread, i do want to mention one thing here. we have several law enforcement come to our shop wanting their windows tinted on tbeir personal vehicle. when i explain to them that california law doesnt allow tint on the front windows, and they can be ticketed, they simply state that they are a cop and they arent worried about it. next time anyone is at a courthouse in ca, go to the employee parking lot and see how many "government employees" have their windows tinted. if a law is set in place, it should apply to the residents as a whole, and not be an exception for those who have the ability to write it off or have their plates registered as private or to a dept. i understand the safety aspect of dark tint, but in ca your back windows can be as dark as you want. as an officer walking up to a car, does it make any difference if the fronts are dark? you cant see in the back and thats usually how an officer approaches isnt it? from the rear of the vehicle? other states front tint can be as dark as you want. you will always hear a story about a cop trying to approach a vehicle and having an "incident" but how often does it occur? im not going to argue that fact, because it does happen, im arguing the fact that several law enforcement/govt employees, think they are above this law. while this may be a small infraction and not worth the time i spent posting it, i think its still worth noting.

This is pretty funny actually. You just did to me what you're accusing me of doing. Read it again. Slowly. If you still don't understand what I wrote, I'll try to explain it to you. I may have to take back the part where I called you brilliant if I do. :)

California is getting what it deserves. The laws there are nuttier than squirrel farts. When it's legal to shit on the sidewalk but drinking straws are illegal, people lose respect for the law. When laws apply unequally, people lose respect for the law. Yes, BLM, I'm looking at you. Antifa too. Let's include the DOJ, just for balance. I wish I was kidding. It can be a slippery slope. If too many people lose respect for the law, all the police can do is watch the show and help pick up the bodies after. It's no accident that guns and ammo are as scarce as hen's teeth. People can see where we might be headed and they're scared.
