I bit the bullet and decided to plasti dip some pieces on my truck. I dipped my grille, front and rear bumpers, fender flares and all of the badges. Looks much better than grey. Ford should have made these black from the very start.

Absolutley Bro! Nice job. I did the same thing 18 month's ago. What was Ford Thinking? Here is the issue. The fender flares and bumpers with ding and scratch and the plastidip will come off. I ended up painting them. My grill, badges, and rims are still done, and have been for a year and a half. You want your truck to look even better? Plastidip those rims. Try it! You can always peel it off.

I have Ben thinking about doing my grill but reserved to the durability. Yours is still looking good after that long? Do you do any offroading?

I did my grill awhile ago and it's held up perfect. Even after scrubbing all the bug carcasses off every week when I wash it I haven't had peeling anywhere.

Good job it turned out nice. Did you put the plastic dip clear coat on top. I Did mine with the satin one and it really helps with fading and peeling.

I did not do it myself, but my guy used a sprayer. Funny you mentioned it, but had it washed today and noticed 2 strips were peeling off. But that is seriously 18 months on and off -road some. It has far exceeded my expectation in look and durability. I did not do the satin, but that might help as well. I like the muted matte look.

I used rattle cans with a new spray nozzle from dipyourcar.com. I could not get a smooth texture with the original spray nozzle so I bought that one. The coats came out MUCH better.

I didn't use any type of clear coat. I like the look of the matte/flat look up against the tuxedo black.

For the emblem I just masked off a square around the oval and peeled that part separately after it was all dry. Then I took a razor blade and cut the plasti dip around the blue oval part and peeled it. Just remember where the chrome parts are and be sure to leave those covered.

The clear that I used didn't change the look of the plastic dip at all. There are pics in a album in my profile of my rear emblem and you can't tell it's clear coated at all. I had stuff that I did on another truck and all the spots that saw the most sun turned to a greyish color. It was actually a matte clear that I used I mistyped in my previous post. Lol.
