Just curious if anyone has any pictures of their Raptor with the 37 factory decals that has had PPF put on. My installer is saying it will make them look glossy. Just hoping they don't stand out any more than they do now. Also, has anyone put xpel stealth on their silver Raptor?

The bigger problem is that it won’t seal properly along the edges of the decals. You’d most like have air bubbles and it would make the edges of the decals more pronounced. The idea of the PPF is to make it look like it’s the paint with the added layer of protection, but if you add it over the decals it will be pretty obvious there’s a film over it.

He’s right about the glossy part. He also should know about the Xpel precut kit or program which goes around the decals leaving them uncovered.

I was told the same thing. I only had the front end done, but like you it went around the hood decals.

This is true. It depends how much of the edges you'll see on the color of your truck. You can pull the decals off. Put down your ppf and then order a new decal to go over it. I have another car that has a decal on it and the whole car was wrapped on top of it. If you look close you can see the edges of the decal aren't sealed. But fast forward 5 years later I haven't had any issues with lifting or anything getting under it.

I would say just go over the decal. Its not worth the headache of doing other options.

I have it over mine and it looks fine (hood only). Yes, you can see a slight air gap at the edge of the decal, but it doesn't bother me. If you go around the decal, it will look more pronounced, as you will see the edge of the PPF. I did the same on my GT350 hood. It looked fine to me. I try to take a picture later.
