Thanks for the heads up. I was wonder if using the reverse trailer connection had any issues with the trailer detection logic. I also did not get the wiretap in the S1 kit. The tap is waterproof somewhat special and my instructions did not list it. I ordered mine on Amazon, must have missed something.

Are you the customer who just emailed us? If so, you just bought the S1 wide cornering kit, not a raptor or vehicle specific kit, which is why your kit does not contain anything vehicle specific.

Yes I am, sorry my mistake. I like the waterproof connectors, but will go another direction. On second thought, how much for the raptor kit? I do not need the switch I am only interested in the backup light function.

Well this kit is really for the Raptors, and you have a Ranger if memory serves me correctly? I'm not quite sure what the specs for wiring are on the Ranger. See the Raptors have LED tails, so there's not a lot of amperage back there which means you can run the Baja S2 lights off the factory wiring. However if your Ranger has halogen bulbs in the reverse, you may be pulling too much amperage with the factory halogen reverse to power the S2 lights. We've seen this issue on Gen1 Raptors, which have halogen reverse lights. Too much amperage, can't power factory + aftermarket lights.

WIth that said, you could use the following harnesses to achieve what you want, but you'll need to watch out for what i said above (about the factory reverse). Also, we don't know the wiring to tap into for the reverse (easy enough there's 2 wires going to your reverse bulbs, you'll tap off the non-grounded one... the power one). As for the upfitter portion of our harness, well you won't need it honestly but it's built in should you want to hookup an internal switch also

Now... SHOULD you have halogen reverse and you can't power the S1 kit you bought off the factory wiring, you COULD still use our CrystaLux harness... you'd use this to wire the lights up to a switch somehow of course.

Installed some S2s yesterday using 4x4TruckLED’s harness, the BD reverse harness, and a fish tape. Fairly straightforward, I didn’t like the T-clamp so I tied the reverse sensing wire inline with the passenger side taillight, #4 pin green with brown stripe.

Didn’t see an easy ground spot so I just stuck a self tapping screw in the brace behind the taillight. The lights are 10x the stock view. I’m very happy with the setup. Took around 1.5hr, but I soldered each connection and was by myself. Having help fishing the harness through the frame would have helped cut down on time,

For those buying from Amazon (my bad) finally finish installing the Baja S1 as a backup light. I did not buy the harness but took what was delivery. Basically, was rather simple except for the attaching the bracket. Took me longer to attach the lights than it took to wire it. This was entirely my fault but will not mentioned how I got the 10mm and 11 mm sockets mixed up. I use one connector included and added 2 wires 14” long to attach to the main cable running between the lights. I should note that I connected the positive to the 7-blade trailer connection, center blade, a grey wire. You need to peal back the wrap to make room for the wiretap. The ground was already thankful close, on the Driver’s side, a bolt which is used for grounding several other connections. I use a “U” connector attached to the ground wire to slide in after loosening the bolt. I attached the ground and positive wires with the waterproof connector included. I did solder the connection since the pins are rather fragile. Lights are very bright and the wide angle is perfect.

Y’all have an auxiliary + reverse light harness right?? I need a new one (long story, haha)!

This harness connects both reverse lights together to your upfitter & rear OEM reverse upfitter wiring. It's a one piece design/harness from the upfitters all the way to the lights. Nice and easy install without connecting multiple harnesses together. It has a built in splitter (to connect both lights together) and a plug for your rear upfitter wires. Includes weatherproof/heat shrinkable connectors up at the upfitters (just crimp the red wire onto a factory upfitter and bolt the black cable w/pre-attached ring terminal to one of the existing bolts by the upfitters, real easy)

Not only is it an easy installation with this harness but we've also built in protection for your factory reverse lights. If you turn the lights on from an upfitter your factory reverse lights in your tails WILL NOT turn on. That's a nice feature, especially if you are out running on a trail and throw some amber covers over your S2 reverse lights. You can use them as chase lights without confusing people with the factory reverse turning on.

I am in the middle of doing mine. Thanks for the great pics and writeup.

A few questions.

1. If I am not tapping into my reverse lights and have the Aux cable from Offroad Alliance with my S1's, can I take the pigtail for the backup lights out of the wiring harness and still have enough length to do my install? And will it screw up the wiring at all, methinks not.

2. There seems to be conflicting info in the various instructions about you must connect the long end to the drivers side and you must connect the long end to the passenger's side. I am thinking the short end goes to passenger (with or without pigtail back up light tap as per question 1) and long wire goes to driver. Then main harness follows passenger side to upfitter.

3. I think I saw that I can take off and reinstall the lens cover to have the wording face up. No issues with breaking any seals etc. It's just a gasket?
