Hey guys,

I am new here, and like some others I don't have a Raptor, but I stumbled on your discussion about these units. I just wanted to stop in and thank you guys for the thorough testing and feedback. I never would have taken the risk on something like this before, but after reading through both of your threads about them, I think I can live with the couple of workarounds to make this work for me. My F150 currently has the 4" screen with no nav, and I can't even get any apps at all to work with it, so it is basically just a Bluetooth receiver. This would be a huge upgrade. It looks like the 4/64 unit is now equipped with fast boot. Anybody tried it since this upgrade?

It's the same as the non-fast boot model. Fast boot model basically keeps the unit "on" in like a standby mode to accomplish the fast boot instead of powering down like the rest.

For those running Sergey firmware

does everything work? Was there any issues? I purchased it but haven’t installed it yet. I don’t want to brick the unit or anything. Can you go back to stock at any point?

When you go through the process you save the stock files and send copies to Sergey. Save those somewhere as well as the factoryset.xml file. If you "update" with those files or say newer ones from Phoenix it will wipe out Sergey's firmware. Side note, make sure to save Sergey's file in a safe place as well just in case. Also, pay attention to Sergey's FB page from time to time. He releases theme updates and other stuff and it's free updates and continued support for those of us that have purchased the firmware.

As for everything working right off the bat.. sort of. Sometimes some of the settings aren't 100% but they are easy to fix either by yourself or while you're going through the process with Sergey. It's not like you need new files to update or anything it's more of finding the right setting to click on or whatever. Follow the instructions closely and you should be just fine.

The only "issue" I have is when I'm playing app based Spotify on initial boot. If the 1st thing I do is hit next from the steering wheel, the track will go to next but I lose sound and sometimes start the SYNC radio. My fix for this is on initial boot up, open counsel and hit the power button for SYNC that Sergey added. Now everything works as normal and you can go about your business. Kind of weird but acceptable IMO.

lol... Just follow the instructions Sergey gives you and watch his installation videos on FB. If you have problems Sergey will walk you through it and help you out.

And define "getting old" o_O

I’m on Sergey’s firmware and have the old audio not switching to the tablet issue. Still need to try playing an mp3 from usb before I try pulling the battery cable to reset things. Other than that it’s been much better.

Sergey's software is essentially an add-on to the PX6 software. It fixes some issues, but not all, and nothing that Sergey's added doesn't work. There are some things he can't fix as he doesn't have access to the source code. Mostly what you get is improved graphics options, themes, boot logos, the like. This may seem minor, but it changes it from a system that looks like it was randomly dropped into your truck to something that looks like it was designed for your truck.

Sergey will also spend time with you to provide configuration suggestions to resolve issues with the PX6, unrelated to his software, even before you've bought his software. He tracks what others with F150s and Raptors have done to resolve issues, and will put you in a group of others as another place to help with issues.

I've never regreted Sergey's software. I've regretted putting in the PX6 at times, but not Sergey's add on.
