Quick update. Had two updates to the custom firmware from Sergey. The first was the Raptor boot animation, same as we used to see. The second was an upgraded to the custom firmware that allows for over the air upgrades in the future. Not sure how well that works yet. As a bonus, not sure if this came with the upgrade or was already there and I didn't notice it, but the white ford truck is now black.

over the air works great! you will get a firmware upgrade notice similar to when you put in a usb with firmware on it. hit yes and off you go.. I did the future of ford boot logo .. really like it

No. At least not on the Android 8.1 model. It’s weird and random. I fired it up after sitting all night and it went right to the home screen. Then I turned it on after a couple hours and it did a full boot. But that’s not a huge deal. I’ll still take the big advantages over the minor annoyances. The Android 9 models are supposed to have fast boot though.

Is that with the Russian ffg firmware?

I guess I need to see about a upgrade for a 9...

Yeah even with Russian firmware. It’s probably a limitation of the 8.1 model. I’m not saying the Android 9 model would fix the issue. It just has fast boot.

For me its been 100% consistent. Mine is the regular non fast boot etc from phoenix.. The only thing that remained was the muting of the radio when i advance a track sometimes.. not all times but sometimes.. Outside of that, booting, operation etc has been solid and consistent.
