I know they said to hit the side but I had the same issue so I hit the bolt from below one time and it popped right out.

I went the leveling kit route to begin with and it was a bad idea.. and unnecessary. Big J can give you a real explanation of why not to do it if you need any more info. than has been given so far.

I've been at top perch for about a month now and I don't like the nose up look. I don't want to go back to the 4x4 place and pay 140 again. Is going down from top to mid the same process as RPG's video? Or is there something else I have to do??..I have zero experience with this type of stuff

I did the perch adjustment today, what a difference in stance and feel. I wasn't able to get my tie rod out either but turned out I didn't have too. I highly recommend this to all that haven't. Do it ASAP !

So you compressed the spring with the steering tie rod in place? I think the reason why you want out of the way as when you move the LCA up it creates pressure of the tie rod which then translate to pressure to the steering rack.

I plan to call RPG today and ask if it is necessary to detach the steering tie rod per their video instructions.

I did. Just jacked up the control arm like their video and compressed the spring.

Too be honest I forgot that step till about half done the first side. Then when I couldn't get it off the second I did it anyway. I figure it can't be worse than compressing the spring on a bump or jump?

If it is an issue... Learn from my mistake cause it's too late now lol:superhack:

6point2, in my experience from yesterday it would be one hell of a squeeze with simple spring compressors to get the ring off top perch. It was a lot of spring pressure getting it high enough for mid, you may have to remove the spring all together but I'm sure there's MUCH more qualified opinions on here.

When going high enough for mid I certainly didn't want to go any further with my spring, top perch is like another inch or more compression.... Watch your fingers!

Be careful when you're banging away on the tie rod to get it loose. I hit the threads on one whack and munged them up a bit. Had a bugger of a time getting the bolt back on, even with an impact... Eventually did but it added time and an "oh shit" moment to the job.
