Ford started to see a higher rate of cv boot failures with top perch. So they created a wet blanket statement (tsb) saying the shocks are not adjustable...

Just for clarification:
It is not a shock adjustment, but a spring perch height adjustment. It adjusts the spring preload.

BubbaRaptor - I am also in Seattle and thinking about doing the midlde perch. Was thinking about doing it myself... If I can find time in my schedule... Which dealers have you asked so far in the area?

The guide Raptizzle posted is pretty comprehensive. This mod can be done in your driveway with basic tools, jack stands, and a set of spring compressors you can rent or buy at any AutoZone, Pep Boys, O'Reilly, Napa, etc.

After trying this myself...i think that removing the coilover is the fastest/best method. Then you can use 4 compressors on it or just bring the whole shock to a shop to do the compressing and snap ring move.

Also i heard the same outa my dealer, and they also mentioned voiding the warranty, which is incorrect. For one i think that the dealer would have trouble proving this mod (which is built in the shock from the factory) would cause whatever failure may be seen in the front suspension.

Yeah I had a Ford dealershio trying to steer me away from doing the mid perch. Their reasoning was "Ford put it on the lowest setting cause thats what works best." I wanted to tell the guy that , No Ford put it on the lowest setting cause D.O.T. wanted our headlights not to blind people from behind as much.

Mid Perch

Got the mid perch done today. Didnt want to go all the way up for when I pull my boat, I didnt want it to look like my ass end is dragging the ground. But anyhoo. The mid perch makes it ride and look so much better in my opinion. Have to wait till Friday to get my front end realigned at another shop. My tires are too big to fit in the first shops alignment machine. If anyone is wondering if they should do it. Do it.

i did the mid perch too and i am very happy with the look and ride. one thing is i do wish the mid perch would of made it a little closer to being level but i didnt want the ass to squat and the ride to be too hard with the top perch
