I agree. You're looking for a kid with remnants of your truck on the tip of one handlebar or the other. When you find him, don't let the bike out of your possession until you show the evidence to the little shit's parents.
.

Problem is that most shit kids parents are ***** themselves and could care less.

Undoubtedly true, RDFTS. You need a license to have a dog, but there is no such requirement for children. Many of which are raised as if they were animals.

I had a late night visitor try to break my passenger front window with a brick while my truck was sitting in my drieveway. He hit it 6 - 8 times, chipping lines into the glass, but it didn't break. Then he tried to pry the door skin away from the window with screwdrivers, bowing it outward. Then he put an 8" slit in my paint in my rear door with a knife. Then he ran the knife through the side wall of one of my back tires.

Neighbor's dog started barking and she called the cops. Kids ran off. I have an idea what their car looks like (not sure where they live). At least they know they'll be noticed, now.

It took me three hours to 'work' the door skin back in (perfectly). Had to replace the rubber seal along the bottom of the side window. Spent $330.00 or something-like-that for a new tire. I'm living with the slit in the paint for now.

Yeah, I was soooooooooo pissed. Why? :biggun:

Now I have Ford's upgraded alarm option (NOT a dealer add-on) so it'll go off without having to actually enter the truck (while the window is being beat on). I know they make better aftermarket alarms, but I didn't want to carry another key FOB. I also added the armor plates to prevent activation of the tailgate, doorlocks, and hood latch with screwdrivers or ice pics. What else can I do?

Yup.

JimmiJammer (dot com) - door cylinder and lock rod protectors
Gate Keeper - tailgate hinge 'guard'
Hood Latch Guard - prevents popping hood latch by reaching in through the grill with a long screwdriver.
Etc

The use of the word "armored" was overkill. They are just medium gauge formed plates, rolled 'hooks' and boxes that bolt on with existing hardware, designed to keep someone from punching a hole in the door or knocking the lock cylinder in with a ice pic or screwdriver to unlock the door from the outside - thus gaining easy access to your truck's interior.

IMHO They aren't overly strong, but, like the video on their site shows, thieves quickly gave up stealing one truck with this protection installed and stole another truck in the same parking lot. They are just a deterrent that should work well against the 'over the border' thieves I have to contend with. A professional car thief that really really wants your truck will simply be annoyed.

BTW - The door has to be opened to set off the stock alarm, as opposed to just breaking a window and reaching in - WTF? The Ford add-on alarm piggy-backs onto the existing stock alarm and adds additional capability (shock, infrared interior, I think??). Both stock and add-on alarms are manufactured by CODE alarm, so additional features can be obtained from them (additional features may be a somewhat custom install, depending). Tasca Ford refused to give me the installation instructions (and there are a LOT of wires), again WTF? HINT (to save you a lot of research): download them off of the CODE site - they're identical ;-) and send Tasco a nasty email like I did.

Good luck guys.

Ah, OK, so I can be a little dense.....either way, it sucks that your Raptor was damaged and I would be pissed beyond belief.

How do you sleep at night? I sure couldn't if my Raptor was outside. I have a hell of time at hotels and such. My paranoia is well founded due to the following. Parking on the street & driveway has got me: One car totaled, one stolen, one ran into by a kid on a bike, one backed into by a neighbor, several break-in's, lots of eggings & misc scratches.
Then I left CA.......

so I'm surfing the forum on my PC for the first time in months and I realize tapatalk ate the lengthy response I made to this post a few weeks ago, oh well..

anywho... several of you commented on the cost of the truck and realistically the Raptor is not the most expensive F-150 build you can get and pretty much any truck I would have bought would have been around that price or more(ever priced an F-350?) Trucks are just too damn expensive these days but I cant function without one.

Normally I have 5 cars in front of my house, the Raptor,Eddie Bauer Expedition,Jetta TDI,Santa Fe(*************) and Mazda 3 hatch with the Raptor parked in between the other cars and normally my cars get left alone and since I live in the wonderful DC metro I can guarantee its safer parked in front of my house than it is anywhere on the road at any given time lol have you ever seen the way people drive around here...

I'm surprised what ever dented my truck didnt set off my alarm, it will usually either page me or notify my of an event when I start it but it did neither. I have the tailgate antitheft deviceand the door anti jam plates are here and I'll be installing them soon but hopefully my truck will get left alone for a while

Guess which gets driven the most lol

We normally would get towed for leaving or cars in the lot but they've been tearing our street up over the last few weeks.
