I know tunes are great but I'm not willing to jeopardize my warranty. I appreciate the feedback though.

I don’t even want a pedal commander and don’t want sold on a tune. That isn’t what I was asking anyway.

I think it depends on the individual so you both are right. If you know how to remove the tune without any signs you are fine. Wouldn't recommend that you come with one to the dealer.

Tune will 100% void your power train warranty. It may not void the warranty on your AC compressor but they sure as hell won’t cover anything related to the tune. Don’t spread bad info that could cost people tens of thousands. Not cool.

The wise thing in my opinion would be to say. Modifying your vehicle in anyway may void your warranty. This would be 100% honest.

If you leave the pedal commander installed, your likely getting some crap and maybe not covered maybe they will.

I have loads of customers who have had been covered under warranty with a tune. From 2011-2019. Although new Ecu’s that dealer has to have a reason to Poke around if you don’t remove the tune, and take the other necessary measures.

So 100% either way, no. Have fun, if you want this get it, you want that get it.

Your information is wrong. My information cost no one anything. True datalogged tunes are 100% safe in every way. If you buy a canned tune, That’s a different story. A true tune isn’t expensive and is designed to be custom calibrated for your engine creating safe and effective power increases and improvements in drivability. Every single parameter of your engine is reviewed in detail. All trucks I’ve owned run phenomenally with a tune and I’ve never had a mechanical or warranty issue. There is a reason the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act exists.

Please don’t spread false information.

I was in the car business for 14 years, all with Ford. I was the GM of 2 different dealerships. You will absolutely void your powertrain warranty with a tune. This is something I know beyond a shadow of a doubt.
