Passenger window goes down but not up

I have been having a problem with my passenger window. It will automatically go down with no problems. But when I try to put it up, it will raise about 1/4 of the way then stop. To get it closed, I have to repeatedly push up a few times. Eventually the auto up takes over, and it goes to the top, and stops at the top with a thud. It seems like there is a speed oscillation as it goes up.

I tried to lube the groves, but it did not work. Dealer #1 tried to reset the max up and down positions but holding it up or down for a few seconds. It did not work. Dealer #2 tried to lube the groves again and "reset the computer" to no avail.

I have searched and found no one else with this problem. I believe it is the motor, so I am going to try another dealer who is the parts distributor in the area, and should have the motor.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mine did that once. There's a reset you can do to it, but I can't remember what it entailed. Hey @Jimbo - do you remember what that sequence was with the window button to reset the sensitivity on the windows?

I don't remember. But mine was due to the in-channel weathertech vents. I thought it was just going all the way down on the first detent, then once it was at the bottom, press into the second detent and hold for 10 seconds. Then reverse, up on the first detent, then once fully up, up on the second detent and hold for 10 seconds.

Thanks, we tried that a number of times. Still the same problem.
I'm going to have to drop it off at the Ford dealer for a couple of days (as they suggested). Luckily I have the extended warranty and rental car coverage. I'll report back here when I find out what it was.

I appreciate the help. It seems to be a rare problem, but thankfully the only problem I've had after 60K miles.

I just got back from Bill Currie Ford (Tampa) and they fixed the problem with the window, yeah.
As expected, it was a faulty motor I tried to get the motor back to do a fault analysis, but they had to return it since it was under the Extended Warranty. It must not happen very often.
Come to think of it, this is the first time I've EVER used an Extended Warranty.
