This message popped up two days ago. The truck thinks that I haven't taken the parking brake off, when I'm driving. Clearly I have. It seems as though one or both of the parking brake actuators have gone bad. Has anyone had this issue and is there a way of diagnosing the problem so that I don't have to order unnecessary parts? Also, if you have done this, are there any tips or hints that you can give me? @FordTechOne , do you have any input? Thank you. BTW, yes, I searched the forum and found nothing helpful

I’d start by pulling ABS Module DTCs with ForScan.

Thank you for the reply. The passenger side actuator, when I took it off, had some green fluid coming out of it. I cleared the code and all is working well.

Possibly brake fluid? Could be a faulty caliper leaking at the rear end of the housing into the actuator. Other than that all I can think is grease.

I was thinking brake fluid at first, but this was bright green, and it seemed to be coming from inside the actuator itself. I don't know if there is any fluid inside the actuator. I stuck my finger in the master cylinder, just to compare fluid color, and it wasn't even close. There were no other leaks coming from the caliper, or in/around the caliper area.
